====== About LOLCODE ====== LOLCODE was created 25 May 2007 by [[http://lindsay.at/blog|Adam Lindsay]]. He emailed his friend (and LOLCat expert) [[http://xzqx.livejournal.com/|Anne]] with primitive versions of the [[examples:HAI WORLD]], [[examples:COUNT!!1]], and [[examples:FILEZORZ]] examples, and he knew he had to [[http://lindsay.at/blog/archive/2007/05/25/lolcode.html|share it with the world]]. Coincidentally, earlier that day, he received fulfillment of his [[http://www.shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=57232&u=188688&m=10198&urllink=joyent.com/accelerator/|Joyent Accelerator]] virtual server, and thought that the site would be a good test of its capabilities. (It's a good thing, too, as it hit the top of reddit on its first day -- Thanks, [[http://reddit.com/user/rodbegbie/|rodbegbie]]!) Inspirations include [[http://icanhascheezburger.com/2007/05/08/a-special-in-depth-analysis-by-david-mcraney-l337-katz0rz/|David McRaney]], [[http://www.dashes.com/anil/2007/04/cats-can-has-gr.html|Anil Dash]], [[http://icanhascheezburger.com/|I CAN HAS CHEEZBURGER]], [[http://lolgeeks.com/|lolgeeks]], [[http://lambda-the-ultimate.org/|Lambda the Ultimate]], and all those crazy/smart people on the internet that help make it a wonderful playground. ===== Site credits ===== The core of the site engine is [[http://wiki.splitbrain.org/wiki:dokuwiki|dokuwiki]], by Andreas Gohr.
