====== LOLCODE's first anniversary ====== It was one year ago today, May 27, 2007, when I [[http://twitter.com/atl/statuses/80638032|opened the doors]] to lolcode.com. It's been a pretty amazing year since then. LOLCODE has evolved from a joke post [[http://lindsay.at/blog/archive/2007/05/25/lolcode.html|on my blog]] just two days before to what's becoming a fairly standard "Hello World" for compiler writers, virtual machine creators, and API publishers. It's been an amazing trip, and I just wanted to thank all of you for stopping by. There are a lot more self-indulgent thoughts on [[http://lindsay.at/blog/archive/2008/05/27/lolcode-and-roflcon-remembrance.html|my personal blog]], but I won't trouble you here with them. I've written a //lot// about [[http://roflcon.org|ROFLCon]] here recently. The reason why is because it's simply the biggest thing to have happen to me on the back of LOLCODE. I've spoken a lot about the panel ("LOLCats: I can has case study?") I was on, and now there's documentary evidence. (Nearly) the whole panel that I spoke on at ROFLCon is now available for high-quality download at [[http://www.archive.org/details/RespectablyFrench.ROFLCon.LOLCats|archive.org]]. You can now see and hear what all the fuss was about: [[http://icanhascheezburger.com/|I Can Has Cheezburger]], [[http://lolsecretz.blogspot.com/|LOLSecretz]], [[http://granades.com/2007/05/02/loltrek/|LOLTrek]], [[http://www.lolcatbible.com/index.php?title=Main_Page|LOLCat Bible]], and I shared the stage with [[http://breadpig.com|Alexis Ohanian]], our moderator, for about an hour, with lots of LOLs. Below, an embed from the video crew, Harvard multimedia comedy troupe, [[http://respectablyfrench.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=43&Itemid=52|Respectably French]]: (Yes, that's [[http://www.tronguy.net/|TRON Guy]]'s helmet in the bottom corner of the frame. He was amazing.) The video is about an hour long, so I know I would want to download it from [[http://www.archive.org/details/RespectablyFrench.ROFLCon.LOLCats|archive.org]] instead.
