Running parallel with the Bible efforts, are we seeing a geek translation canon assserting itself?
One of the first big LOLworks that caught my attention and helped inspire LOLCODE was the LOLTrek adaptation of the Trouble with Tribbles story. It's not LOL, but it's a similar sort of mashup, and makes for an interesting comparison: The Trouble with Tribbles, as it might have been rendered by Edward Gorey.
